USS Hornet Museum Hosts Glenn Miller Orchestra Big Band Fundraiser

The USS Hornet Museum, an aircraft carrier in the San Francisco Bay, recently announced an upcoming dance to benefit the museum. On Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 7:30 p.m to midnight, the museum will host a big band dance featuring the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra.

The evening will also include free dance lessons by former Fred Astaire dance instructor, Jim Truesddale, and a tribute to the Andrews Sisters by The Swingin' Blue Stars of the USS Hornet. The Blue Stars is a group of ladies who specialize in performing swing-style harmony made popular by 1940's female vocal groups, such as the Andrews Sisters.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra is famous for their major hits, which include "Tuxedo Junction", "In the Mood", "Moonlight Serenade" and "Chattanooga Choo Choo." Ticket prices start at $ 45 for General Admission, $ 68 for Reserved tables and $ 95 for Cabaret. The Cabaret features the best seats in the house in front of the stage, with dance floors only steps away from your table.
